When to use logos-node

Choose if

You operate a Linux x86_64 host and need a guided install / upgrade / status workflow for a Logos Blockchain testnet validator with systemd service wiring, glibc check, bootstrap-peer configuration, and HTTP/peer health probes. Pick this over a hand-rolled script when you want the state-wipe-on-major-upgrade path encoded for you.

Avoid if

You're not on Linux x86_64 with glibc >= 2.39, or you need a non-Logos validator. Also avoid if your operational policy can't tolerate full state wipes during major upgrades — the README states this is required to resolve genesis mismatches.

Risk Flags

  • HIGH scope README scopes the skill to Linux x86_64 with glibc >= 2.39 only. macOS, Windows, ARM, and older glibc hosts are explicitly out of support.
  • MEDIUM lock-in Upgrades require a full state wipe and re-initialization with the new binary's bootstrap peers (the README warns the same binary used for init must run at runtime to avoid StartBlockNotFound). Operators with persistent state needs must back up before upgrading.
  • MEDIUM scope Targets the Logos Blockchain *testnet* only — the README does not claim mainnet readiness.
